The BAR & LOUNGE AREA

2002
This is how the basement looks today. See the retro page for other styles.

Wall 4 and 1 of the basement. Here is the entertainment center as well as the movie memorabilia decor. This is a close up view of the bar located on wall 2.

Trim work and doors were finally installed.
That also prompted a new paint job as well as a new drop ceiling. Honestly, these pictures really don't do the paint color justice, but you get the idea.

This is the room decorated again with some additions and subtractions.

This is more of a joke really. Just like the theatres, this gives you an idea of what you're walking into. Actually I found this when I was cleaning out the basement and thought it would be funny. Seriously, you get a look at the door from the outside.

2004
The light bulb finally came on one day and I realized that the layout of the furniture was completely wrong in the basement. A few quick changes (not to mention a large electrical upgrade) later, the basement has undergone a well deserved change.

I re-supported the shelving in the media closet. Here is also a look at the new home for the TV.

A better look at the additional shelving as well as the new shelving for the tape deck and CD Players as I removed the old cabinet from the room completely.

A closer view of the new furniture layout. Also note the curtain to help the glare from the sun on the TV.

A good overall shot of the new layout. Basically everything just shifted one wall clockwise, but it makes a world of difference.

2006
I bought some new furniture and downsized the pictures.

2007
The worst one day storm in 22 years hit my hometown in April dumping 6 1/2" of rain in one night.
As a result, the basement flooded. It was a complete disaster area as you can see below:

So after the basement dried out (a lot), the rebuilding process began. The long story short was
a complete redesign and a much needed modernization. I'm not doing a commercial here, but
after speaking with a lot of contractors I decided to go with the Owens Corning basement
finishing system. I can hardly believe its the same space because it looks that much different. Take a look:
