The Complete Collection

History

The winter of 1989 would change the lives of Bill Shute, Michael Mowery and Joe McGroarty forever. To this point Bill and Mike have known each other for many years. They have always had a friendship, but this year things would become special.

Bill began acting the previous year and enjoyed it very much. When Mike was searching for a course to take, Bill suggested acting. Public speaking and putting himself on display was something that Mike was uncomfortable with as he was a bit shy and had not broken out of his shell yet. Still Mike signed up for the course.

While in the class, Mike realized that he was one of only four guys in the course. While being in a class that was predominately female had its advantages, Mike realized that he would have to act a lot more than he thought he would. A strange thing happened one day. The teacher put Mike and another student into a play. Neither guy really wanted to do it. That other guy was Joe McGroarty.

Joe had just moved to New Jersey from Arizona. Not knowing many people in the school, Joe and Mike became friends. After realizing that the acting thing wasn't all that bad, Joe and Mike joined Bill in auditioning for the schools musical, West Side Story.

All three gentleman were casted in the show. The many hours of rehearsal allowed the guys to develop a close relationship both on and off stage. For a long time to come, the guys were inseparable. They got involved in many projects. Then the day that would change their lives occurred. Joe introduced Bill and Mike to the art of TPing. This started out as a way that the newly formed "T.P. Gang" showed appreciation for fellow cast mates. This however turned into something more than they could have possibly conceived.

Audio Tape Collection

Buddy Boys Tapes
One of the ways Michael Mowery attempted to show his admiration and feelings towards his friends was by creating an audio cassette for them. The tape was full of songs that reminded him of the guys or had special meanings for them as a group. From 1989 - 1992, 5 tapes were created. Below you can click on and listen to a few of the songs that appeared on the tapes
This Bryan Adams song was dubbed early on as "The T.P. Theme Song". It was on every Buddy Boys tape, appeared as the music bed for the Original T.P. Video and was used as the music bed for the car chase scene in Buddy Boys: The Movie It's Always Raining One of my favorite songs is from this Canadian based band. I introduced it to the guys on the first tape. Though the song never made it into a Buddy Boys film, it still holds a special meaning for the group.
A Song by Jon Bon Jovi which was used in the Young Guns 2 soundtrack became very special to the group. It was used in the fourth tape and later served as the end credit music for Buddy Boys: The Movie. Something To Believe In Although this Posion song did appear on a Buddy Boys tape, it came into its own in Buddy Boys: The Movie. The song actually never appeared on film. It was supposed to be the music bed for the now infamous scene 23 in TP Headquarters. The scene created a numerous amount of bloopers and took two days to film. The song brings back a lot of good memories for the guys.
A second Bon Jovi song which capture the attitude of the guys when they are out on their missions The End of The Innocence This Don Henley song appeared in two buddy boy tapes. It is a timeless song with a deep personal meaning for the guys.
Training Montage The training Montage was used as the music bed of the training sequence for the Desert Training. It then appeared on the forth tape.
