This video opens with the closing credits of Trivia Challenge and then proceeds to the CBS identification. The WBOC news break comes on with a special report. Jeff Disharoon sits behind the anchor desk and says that some rare Beach Boys Videos have just been found.
The next thing that the audience see's is the four original Beach Boys singing "California Girls". The video is in black and white to give it the vintage feel. Once the song is over, the studio camera comes back to Jeff as he interviews former Capital Records manager Nik Venet (Michael W. Mowery).
After the instant success of the Monkees Video, Golden Roll Productions and Generation 2 decided to make another video. This time they did a cover to a classic Beach Boys tune. Really going out on a limb and subjecting themselves to ridicule, the four members of the band actually sang the song.
A Couple of notes worth mentioning. First the news set is the actual news station set of the CBS affiliate WBOC. Jeff works at the station and late (very late) one night he and Michael W. Mowery went there to do the interview without anyone knowing.
A nice surprise here is that Dave Kilkeary makes another special appearance in a SSU production. He was last seen as a guest on Trivia Challenge.
