The Vietnam War Experience is a documentary with Fred Wilkinson about his life and experience as a Vietnam War Veteran. This video turns a lifetime of memories and experiences and packs them into a 22 minute retro look at the war from person's perspective. An in depth interview by Michael W. Mowery allows the viewers to hear the story of an actual soldier who served his country in a war that the majority of the United States population thought was wrong and inapropriate.

This film is by far one of the best quality and most accolaited films that GRP has ever produced. The hardest part of the documentary process for Michael W. Mowery was selecting the topic. He then turned to Fred Wilkinson and asked him if he would be willing to discuss the war with him. Mr. Wilkinson was "honored" to be asked to be the subject for the documentary. Mr. Mowery originally turned to Mr. Wilkinson because he is a person with whom he is very familliar with. Michael grew up with Mr. Wilkinson's sons' Scott and Jeff (both of whom have been involved with various productions for GRP). As a result of their friendship, Michael was more comfortable in asking the personal questions and probably made Fred comfortable because he knew the interviewer equally as well.

This project also used the new lighting and sound equipment first used in the Abott & Costello Tribute. The video toaster was used for the titles and wipe patterns which connected each segment. The filming took place in Blackwood, NJ. All post production and debut showing took place in Salisbury, MD.
