Instagram Post: Yesterday I started off the month after work on the #recumbentbike with a 30 mile #biking workout. I'm realizing that in between big biking adventures, I need to do smaller controlled workouts to maintain endurance especially when things like weather become a factor. I'm happy with my April rides but not so much with the total workout days so my personal commitment is more days which include the recumbent, bike & swim. One day at a time. #seagullcentury2016 #seagullcenturytraining #fightforit #fitdontquit #LLLR

May 02, 2016

Instagram Post: This morning I got up early, looked at the forecast & decided the #recumbentbike was my best choice for a quality workout on the day off. Doesn't me I won't go for a ride later, but that'll be more of a fun type thing. So this morning was 50 miles. Feeling better about my new plan for training. #fitdontquit #fightforit #seagullcenturytraining #seagullcentury2016 #LLLR

May 02, 2016

Instagram Post: So after a rainy miserable morning where I decided to ride my #recumbentbike for 50 miles, the day actually turned fairly nice. I got the itch and went out for a short ride. 13+ miles, no particular track. I was never more then 1-2 miles from home. In the end, I did 63 miles of #biking in one form or another today. Day 2 of the month, workout 3 recorded. #fightforit #fitdontquit #seagullcenturytraining #seagullcentury2016 #LLLR

The Ride: A quick loop around Blackwood. No more than 2 miles or so from home.Basically the ride was just the adjacent neighborhoods around me.

Instagram Post: Happy #CincoDeMayo & #RevengeOfTheFifth Day! Today I woke up early (on a day off). Went to the pool (because it's still raining & crappy outside here) and did 4000 yards! Ok sure. Hell of a way to start the day. Went home decided I need to do some peddling so did 10 miles on the #recumbentbike Now I have the whole day to celebrate these holidays! #itsfiveoclocksomewhere #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #seagullcenturytraining #seagullcentury2016 #biking #LLLR

May 08, 2016

Instagram Post: After a week of rain & 2 days of being sick, I dusted off the old #MountainBike and had some off road fun. 12 miles to - through - and around #GloucesterTownshipCommunityPark & the trails behind #CamdenCountyCollege This bike felt so strange after riding my new #Trek for a while. I definitely am not 100% yet and probably shouldn't have gone out, but didn't want to waste what turned out to be a beautiful day. #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #seagullcenturytraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #LLLR #biking #MothersDay

The Ride: I felt the need to ride my mountain bike. I wasn't feeling well so this probably wasn't the best decision I ever made but wanted to get out there as it was the first time in over a week that it was not raining. Basically I road over to the off road trails and explored for a while. I did take a lap around the park since I was there. In the end, it was a decent day. Felt good to use this bike again. I'll have to break it out more often.

Instagram Post: 14 mile #biking activity after work tonight. Around the #GrenlochLake & surrounding areas. Always liked the exterior of the house in the bottom left picture, I rode past it so I took a picture. Felt a lot better tonight compared to yesterday so that's a win! #fightforit #fitdontquit #seagullcenturytraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #LLLR

The Ride: Only an hour or so on the road tonight after work. I went through Grenloch and the couple neighborhoods around my house. Just trying to stay active on a daily basis

May 11, 2016

Instagram Post: After work #biking activity was 16+ miles covering #BlackwoodEstates I managed to beat the rain. A little breeze but very dark & gloomy out there this evening. All decked out for #Salisbury as the #SeaGullCentury2016 #seagullcenturytraining continues. #fitdontquit #fightforit #LLLR

The Ride: Another post work, workout. This time I did the entire Blackwood Estates. Good ride, beat the rain, staying active.

May 12, 2016

Instagram Post: Was able to get my #biking activity in before work today. I rode the #GloucesterTownshipHealthAndWellnessTrail twice and then the perimeter around Grenloch / Lakeland to get over 15 miles. Beautiful day out there right now. Go enjoy it. #seagullcenturytraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #fightforit #fightforit #LLLR

The Ride: A morning ride before work. Made good time on the Gloucester Township Health and Wellness Trail. I then did it a second time to build mileage. The ride concluded with a lap around Grenloch and then through Lakeland before concluding at home.

May 13, 2016

Instagram Post: It's #FridayThe13th and I did a little #biking before heading into work this morning. 21 miles through Washington & Gloucester Townships. Good breeze, warm but also dark and gloomy. It's going to rain. Just feels good being out there. #fightforit #fitdontquit #seagullcenturytraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #LLLR

The Ride: Just a simple ride to some places I hadn't been through in a while. A nice ride, weather was fine. I did bike past the Blackwood Lake. That is a great downhill coast to the lake but not the best road to bike on so I only do it once in a while. No Friday the 13th type issues out there today.

May 14, 2016

Instagram Post: I woke up this morning and said to myself, "self let's take the bike out for a little spin". Somehow little spin turned into 50 miles. Um okay sure. Plenty about this ride on the blog later to much to put here. I did however go to some new places. The ride was pretty much Washington Township today. I surprisingly feel pretty good. #biking #fitdontquit #fightforfit #seagullcenturytraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #LLLR

The Ride: Crazy day. Did not intend to ride 50 miles today but it just happened. I explored a lot more of Washington Township then I ever have before including biking past the High School and Washington Lake Park for the first time. Very pleased with the ride and the bike held up very well. It was a great day on the bike.

Instagram Post: Back at it this morning before work. The #GloucesterTownshipHealthAndWellnessTrail twice. A short ride, 13 miles good to get the blood pumping. It was pretty windy at times. Sharing pics of some of the scenery along the way. #fightforit #fitdontquit #SeaGullCenturyTraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #biking #LLLR

The Ride: Morning ride on the home course. It is in decent shape. Rode the trail twice and was pretty much all alone on it today. Its better that way some times. Stopped to capture the scenery along the way. Highlighting the ball fields and train.

Instagram Post: It's official people. I'm now registered for #SeaGullCentury2016 even got the dates off from work today. This is really happening #biking

The Ride: Okay not a ride but a monumental biking activity today did occur. I officially registered for Sea Gull Century in October. Committed now to biking 100 miles all to raise money for charity. For me specifically it will be raising money to fund a scholarship in the name of my friend Rob Schultheis who was tragically killed last October while jogging. Salisbury University means a lot to me and so did Rob. It is an honor to do something that has become a passion for me while helping others.

Instagram Post: Tonight / Today I had three biking adventures. In all I rode 41.58 miles. The last ride is the one that means the most. I participated in the 'Ride for Silence' Global event tonight. Here is a little more about the event:

As far as the other two rides: I biked the #MonroeTownshipBikeway & did a brick workout on Tuckahoe Road. Thanks to @marathontrimom for the hospitality & invitation. I had a wonderful day of #biking #seagullcenturytraining #fitdontquit #fightforfit #LLLR

The Ride: Back on The Monroe Township Bikeway. Since I was in this area, I had to ride it again. Smooth ride, good time. The only difference was that I parked at my friends house (which was the starting and ending point for every ride tonight), so that added a few miles to the ride.

Monroe Township Bikeway
State(s): New Jersey
Counties: Gloucester
Length: 6.36 miles
Trail end points: Bluebell Rd./CR 633 at Virginia Ave. (Williamstown) to Delsea Manor Dr./SR 47 (Glassboro)
Trail surfaces: Asphalt
Trail category: Rail-Trail

The Ride: Well here is the thing, I definetly performed better this time as opposed to the last time I tried this. In the end, you only compete against yourself so this was a win. Tuckahoe Road has wide shoulders and its very flat. Great for training. Its not the easiest place for me to get to however. I'll be back.

Below shows the end point of where we stopped on Tuckahoe Road. The road just keeps on going for miles down to the shore. I just wanted to post my splits as I was definitely using gears I never do. Maintained a higher MPH than I normally do. That's why this is a win in my book.

The Ride: My first time riding in a group activity. It was a wonderful experience and for a great cause. Only averaged about 12 mph over the 10 miles of the event.

Featured Areas: Well we never went into neighborhoods but I did ride past some I would be interested in exploring in the future. I did start and stop at my friends house in Chestnut Greene however.

Instagram Post: A few photos from the #RideOfSilence event last night. First time riding in a structured group event. Fun night.

May 29, 2016

Instagram Post: Well after a week away for various reasons, I actually just rode an actual bike & not a #recumbentbike That felt damn good! So back on the saddle again #biking #fightforit #fitdontquit #seagullcentury2016 #SeaGullCenturyTraining

The Ride: I biked the Gloucester Township Health and Wellness Trail. I cut through Lakeview Apartments, then turned left onto Lower Landing Road. At this point I went the the Timber Cove neighborhood. I contoinued down Good Intent Road and turned right at Blackwood Lake onto Barnsboro Road to bike up the hill. I then biked through Nob Hill before making a left onto County House Road. This took me through the Lakeland Complex. I continued on County House with a quick loop through The Reserve where the road changes to Woodbury Turnersville Road. I crossed the street onto Park Ave. Made a left on Eastview, then a right down Central Avenue. Made a left on Linden Street which intersects the beginning of the Gloucester Township Health and Wellness Trail.

May 30, 2016

Instagram Post: I always like getting a ride in on holidays (I just like incorporating pics of holidays into my colleges). At any rate, a quick 10 mile after work, before the rain, through a few neighborhoods. Also ran into @mamalama71 & @bmills816 tonight. Nice surprise good talking to them. In all a good night #fightforit #fitdontquit #seagullcentury2016 #SeaGullCenturyTraining #biking #LLLR

The Ride: Cool night, a little mist and some breeze. Sunlight was really the factor here.Ran into some friends so I stopped and talked for a while, that cut into completeing all of Blackwood Estates but still, a good ride.

May 31, 2016

Instagram Post: After work #biking activity this evening 22+ miles around Neighboring towns. Discovered some new places tonight so that's always fun. Feeling a lot better (less stress & work related stuff weighing on my mind). Also how about it staying light out past 8pm now! Awesome! Good ride tonight #fightforit #fitdontquit #SeaGullCenturyTraining #seagullcentury2016 #LLLR #fitness

The Ride: Nothing special at the start I just did the Gloucester Township Health and Wellness Trail. I then went through Hill Top which took me into the Fairways Apartments as I worked my way down Old Black Horse Pike. I eventually cut through Taylor Avenue and ended up at Timber Creek Park. After a lap around the Park, I crossed back to Taylor Ave and explored the neighborhoods off that road. New to me so thats always exciting. From there I went up Chews Landing Road to Little Gloucester Road. I took the loop through Valleybrook and continued on Little Gloucester Road until I intersected with Coles Road.I quick lap around the Democrat Club then I crossed the road going through the neighborhoods heading toward Blackwood Clementon Road. I cut through Highland Village and turned onto Davistown Road to end the ride.
