April 01, 2017

Instagram Post: Happy #AprilFoolsDay filled with ominous skies that threatened rain at any moment but it held off long enough for a couple #biking laps on the #gloucestertownshiphealthandwellnesstrail today. Always good to start the month off with a ride. #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #YouVsYou

The Ride: Well it was a little interesting at times but the rain held up. Just hit the trail a couple times. At this point I really can't say to much new about the trail.

April 02, 2017

Instagram Post: Sunday is a work all day kinda day. So the only thing I can do is walk. Almost #10000steps on the day which included walking through #TimberCreekPark on my lunch break. A lot of people with their dogs out there today (I usually don't see anyone.) until tomorrow my friends #YouVsYou #FitDontQuit #FightForIt

The Walk: Honestly there was one dog that was no matvh for its owner and it got a little scary at times. That aside, it was a nice day for a walk.

Instagram Post: mwmoweryIt was a weird 10-8 shift today so not much opportunity to do anything. That said 11,400 steps at work gives you an idea of how busy it was. The sky was crazy as thunderstorms rolled through. In fact I woke up early and did 25 miles on the #recumbentbike Hoping to actually ride tomorrow when I'm off. You know I love holiday incorporations in my blog posts, today I'm posting for the love of my alma matter #SalisburyUniversity and the #GullsGive24 campaign Helping students, the University and honoring those that came before us as well as those whose legacy we embrace. #ItsAGoodDayToBeAGull go to Salisbury.givecorps.com to learn more. Thanks #10000steps #YouVsYou #FightForIt #FitDontQuit (and a special birthday shout out to my best friend going on 40 years now).

April 05, 2017

Instagram Post: It got up to 70 degrees today. A perfect day to go #biking I put up 25 miles today. It felt rough at times (very little sleep and seriously I had 2 oranges today so no nutrients or rest). I did power through it though. I appreciated the fact fact that I am able to this so no use complaining. I even busted out the #SeaGullCentury jersey today. 6 months to this years century ride. Until next time my gracious supporters #YouVsYou #FightForIt #FitDontQuit

The Ride: They say the hardest thing to do in sports is repeat as champion. I completlely understand this and today I felt this. Last year, I had fear and anxiety about biking 100 miles in one day. I had such a sense of accomplishment when I did it. I realized that I just biked and biked all the time to make sure I physically could do that. Today I had the realization that I know I can do it, but I was not physically capable if I had to do it today. I know what it takes and this is another completely different mental battle now in order to get back to the state of mind I was in last October. There's a lack of motivation. I also hurt all over.

April 06, 2017

Instagram Post: It poured buckets of rain here today. Then when I got out of work, the sun came out. I broke out the #mountainbike and hit the #gloucestertownshiphealthandwellnesstrail My nephew @21crazylegs21 would have loved the trail today, nothing but puddles (of course I had to bike through them multiple times.) I tried to take a video of one but it was a little hard to film. Anyway, rode the trail twice. It was a fun ride. I was soaked when I was finished. Haven't had fun like this in a while #biking #YouVsYou #FightForIt #FitDontQuit

The Ride: A fun, wet ride down the trail. Unlike yesterday (though I was still hurtung), the mental game was replaced with pure joy. This is why I got into biking in the first place.

April 08, 2017

Instagram Post: Early morning #biking adventure today. 20+ miles around town. The wind wasn't as big a factor as I thought it would be and that was fantastic. This was just a normal neighborhood kinda ride and I went past #GrenlochLake Normally there's nothing going on there but today it was all types of activities happening. I also biked the perimeter of the #gloucesterpremiumoutlets because I haven't done that in a while. Not a bad way to start a day off if I do say so myself #YouVsYou #FightForIt #FitDontQuit

The Ride: Not a lot of wind which was awesome. A solid ride through mostly neighborhoods. I took the long way home just to get over 20 miles on the ride which is something I haven't been doing lately. That tells me that the weather is getting nicer and I am enjoying being on the bike again.

April 09, 2017

Instagram Post: I worked all day. Got home around 6:30 and realized I had about an hour of daylight so I grabbed the bike and hit the #gloucestertownshiphealthandwellnesstrail I biked it twice. By the end, I definitely needed some extra light. Good news, changing the batteries works wonder as I could see in the dark haha. Actually I intended to stay out just to test some gear and it worked well. 15 miles tonight. Getting closer to the goal. Attached is some pics during sunset and a picture down by the lake at night. Weather was perfect and I felt pretty good on this ride. Wins all around #10000steps #YouVsYou #FightForIt #FitDontQuit

The Ride: Riding by the moonlight is always fun. A lot of people on the trail made it interesting at times. A total of two trips up and back plus a little extra got me to 15 miles. It was a chance to get out and test some equipment so I went for it. I'm starting to feel better riding again and thats a good thing.

April 12, 2017

Instagram Post: Today I put in a 24 mile ride around town (which was actually all the neighborhoods off the trail.) I was so tired to begin with considering I didn't sleep well last night. Not to mention I ran around this morning and walked a bunch. Speaking of, ever have a feeling you shouldn't be somewhere but you explore anyway? Yeah I found myself around #PrincetonUniversity today (that's the only way I'm getting into an Ivy League school). I walked a mile around campus just exploring. Overall it was an exciting day. Now excuse me while I sleep for 15 hours! #10000steps #gloucestertownshiphealthandwellnesstrail #YouVsYou #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #TrekBikes

The Ride: A ride I haven't done in a while. I felt tired and sore. I definitely have some sore joints after this one. A slow pace but that was expected. It was good to get the mileage in but I definitely paid for it. Earlier in the day, I found myself around Princeton University so I took advantage of the opportunity to walk around the campus a little. The campus is very deceptive. From the main roads, it doesn't appear very large at all, but once inside the gates, the campus doesn't seem to end. Every building looks exactly the same as well. Very gothic looking. My lone trip to an Ivy League School.

April 13, 2017

Instagram Post: Another beautiful day today and I started by doing yard work. The first edging, cutting, weed whacking, etc of the season. I walked about 2 miles doing this. Next up, I grabbed my #mountainbike and headed over to the off road tracks by #CamdenCountyCollege and played around for almost 15 miles. Off roading is fun but it sure is a tough workout. Just another fun day on a bike. #YouVsYou #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #TrekBikes

The Ride: First lawn care activity of the year. Walked almost 2 miles doing it. I then went and had fun playing on the off road trails. It was tough but fun. I welcome sleep tonight.

April 14, 2017

Instagram Post: Usually when I'm having a bad day, a bike ride clears my head. That wasn't the case tonight. It just gave me more time to think and that wasn't good. What is good is that I rode for the third straight day. 14.6 miles around the lake tonight. Legs felt good. Nice night. #YouVsYou #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #Biking #TrekBikes

The Ride: Not a lot to report. Not a good head day.

April 16, 2017

Instagram Post: #HappyEaster in PA with the family. Got up early and hit the #perkiomentrail #skippacktrail #PalmerPark for 17 miles. Beautiful day. Felt good. Haven't been on these trails in a long time. It was really nice #biking someplace different for a change. I then picked up two of the nephews and hit the #audubonlooptrail for 4 more miles. Always fun spending time with the boys. 21 miles in all today. Great day to be outside #Biking (Yep it was an 80 degree day) #TrekBikes #FitDontQuit #FightForIt #YouVsYou

The Ride: Good Time. Fun riding somewhere different. I brought the Marlin and at some points it was very appropriate to have a straight up mountain bike on the Perkiomen Trail. On the other hand, it made it tough at other points. Either way, a good ride. I still haven't made it up that damn hill though. The second part was a blast. Love hanging with the boys and happy they enjoy spending time with me.

April 18, 2017

Instagram Post: Out of work and on the bike. Rode the #gloucestertownshiphealthandwellnesstrail a couple times. I actually pushed myself into higher gears than I normally do. It felt awesome, not gonna lie. Maintaining higher speeds is tough with so many cross streets but a fun ride nonetheless. For about two weeks a year, the flowers on the trees are in bloom and they just started. So enjoy that picture. Finally, I haven't posted steps in a few days so now I'm caught up on that as well. Until I ride again #TrekBikes #Biking #YouVsYou #FightForIt #FitDontQuit

The Ride: A decent ride. Smooth ride. Hit some higher gears and did well. It was all about pushing myself a little tonight.

April 19, 2017

Instagram Post: Done work, hopped on the bike.... 25 miles later my head is clear, my stress is gone and I feel great. Having a beer, listening to some #Elvis on vinyl, it's my Friday! I'll be meeting friends later. Back to the ride, felt great at there tonight. I think the key here is simply ride, ride, ride. The more I do, the better I feel. I did the Grenloch / Lakeland loop with a couple other neighborhoods for good measure. It looks like it's going to rain but luckily I didn't encounter any. Then upon my return home I noticed the trees are blooming better as well as the lilac bushes in the back (they smell great.) Nothing wrong with this night! Until next time #YouVsYou #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #TrekBikes

The Ride: Evening rides are always better going into a day off. I feel like I can just stay out longer and enjoy the surroundings. Felt good tonight, new issues. Fun ride.

April 23, 2017

Instagram Post: I was able to hit the trail after work tonight. Daylight to begin the ride, moonlight to finish it. Biked the #gloucestertownshiphealthandwellnesstrail twice plus a little extra to get over 15 miles. Took a different picture of the train, this time with the trees in bloom. Sometimes my trail looks really nice. Great scenery #biking #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #YouVsYou #TrekBikes

The Ride: Quick ride just trying to put in 15 milles. Figured out a helmet light so if I'm stuck in the dark, i'm covered.

April 25, 2017

Instagram Post: Today I did something that I haven't done all month, I went #swimming and it SUCKED!! Haha! Just because I haven't done it in a while. Pace was slow, I felt winded at times but honestly it really felt good being in the pool. Cleared my head and relieved stress. Also walk a ton today. A good day. #YouVsYou #FightForIt #FitDontQuit

April 26, 2017

Instagram Post: In Salisbury today for a #Biking adventure & a @sualumni Board of Directors Meeting. 1st, the ride: I explored downtown a bit. Biked through Main Street past Brew River and then over to Nanticoke Rd for an interesting ride. I knew the road goes forever and that it's pretty flat so I biked straight out for 10 miles as hard as I could, turned around and headed back. I then headed over to campus and biked around there a bit. Finally I headed over to the #wicomicoyouthandciviccenter This is the building my college graduation was held in. I haven't been here since that day. In all 41+ miles around Salisbury today. Now to the meeting, I always enjoy seeing these people and contributing to the University. No stop to SU is complete without visiting Sammy so today's Sammy picture was taken from the third floor of Perdue Hall. Overall a great day.

The Ride: Instagram posts says it all. It was good exploring other parts of Salisbury. The brick I did was no joke and Nanticoke Road just doesn't end

April 27, 2017

Instagram Post: After an epic ride yesterday, I did not feel like #Biking today, but how can I pass up an 80 degree day? I started on the #gloucestertownshiphealthandwellnesstrail but got bored so I headed off to #TimberCreekPark and then over to #valleybrookcountryclub I headed back towards the trail but went through it so I could take the long way home and get over 15 miles on the day & 60 miles on the week. Now time for a shower & a nap #YouVsYou #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #TrekBikes

The Ride: Felt decent after the epic ride yesterday. Hit some places I haven't been to in a while. Found myself just finding long roads to bike on instead of the normal neighborhood thing I normally do. A good change of pace.

April 28, 2017

Instagram Post: Did not think I had time after work for a quality #biking adventure so I took care of some yard work instead. The color is coming in, the flowers in bloom so it's looking nice. It was a beautiful night as well. Mowing the lawn also helped me reach #10000steps today so WIN!!! #YouVsYou #FightForIt #FitDontQuit

April 29, 2017

Instagram Post: Long work day, good #biking day and #10000steps for good measure. I love that it's light out at 8pm makes biking easier and motivates me to go out. 15+ miles mostly in Washington Township. Hit some neighborhoods I haven't been through in a while. Interesting sunset, the pictures don't do it justice. Until tomorrow (my new day off). #YouVsYou #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #TrekBikes

The Ride: A good ride. Choose to hit some neighborhoods I haven't been through in a while. Overall I was happy with this ride just a little soreness through out the ride.

April 30, 2017

Instagram Post: Last day of the month, one final opportunity to put in some mileage this month. I was going to go to a trail but with the potential rain in the forecast, I stayed local and biked the hometown. Downtown got a bit tricky as there was an accident and I couldn't get everywhere I wanted but I still managed 20 miles and covered most of the Downtown. The wind at times sucked! I hate the wind. Overall though I felt good. There's been a lot of talk in my various circles recently about #SeaGullCentury2017 so it's time to really start taking this #biking thing seriously again. To those that said hi or beeped and waved, I appreciate it. Good seeing you out there. #YouVsYou #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #TrekBikes #seagullcenturytraining

The Ride: Sore. Windy. Struggled at times. Felt amazing at times. It was that kind of ride
